Description

A slow paddlewheel cruise through Cedar Point's interior lagoons past animated tableaux of early rural Americana, narrated live by a wisecracking captain, and for five decades the park's designated place to sit down and dry off. It moved to the Gemini Midway in 1987 when Iron Dragon took its old dock. Ridership fell by roughly two thirds between 1996 and 2008 and it was retired on Labor Day 2011 so Adventure Island could host Dinosaurs Alive; on the last day the local Red Cross chapter auctioned the seats off the final two boats. Cedar Point's own marketing dated the ride from the 1964 Western Cruise rename rather than its 1960 debut.
