- Playland (also called Rye Playland) is a historic Art Deco amusement park on Long Island Sound in Rye, New York. Built by Westchester County and opened on May 26, 1928, it is one of the only government-owned amusement parks in the United States and is a designated National Historic Landmark. The 280-acre complex includes an amusement park, swimming pool and beach, boardwalk, ice casino and boating lake, and retains classic attractions such as the 1929 Dragon Coaster, the 1928 Grand Carousel, the Derby Racer and The Whip. The park has been operated by Standard Amusements since 2022.
