  • Not thrilling enough for its theme

This coaster, on a hardware level, is a family coaster. It wants to do much more than it really does, and most of the ride ends up feeling like just an excuse to get to the drop track, after which the ride ends. What's there isn't unpleasant, but it doesn't earn its intimidating presentation.
  • Nice launch

After a good, powerful launch, this ride doesn't have a lot to offer. The rest of the layout feels cookie-cutter thanks to Intamin's habit of heavily basing subsequent layouts off of this one, and tracking issues are present throughout.
  • Still so cool

This era of Alton Towers really knew how to do this whole themed entertainment thing. Having the theme be "the ride is big and scary" can and often does fall flat, but here the park leans into it deliciously well and what results is a ride that punches way above its weight and is more intimidating than it has any right to be. The fact that it pretty much does the drop and ends makes it my favorite dive coaster by far. It knows what you're here for and gives it to you straight up (straight down?)
  • Pinnacle of the B&M Inverted Coaster

What an absolutely breathtaking layout, all killer no filler integrated insanely well with the park's natural and landscaped terrain. Throw in a wonderfully intimidating theme to boot, and you've got yourself an all around winner.
  • This is how you do a Madhouse.

Incredible experience from start to finish. Having the queue and preshows integrated into the actual namesake manor is a stroke of genius and is executed perfectly. I love the story concept, more rides should use local folklore as a theme. And, most importantly for a Madhouse, the theming on the ride itself doesn't suck! Super super well done all around.
  • Still unique among flying coasters

Galactica (Air) being the first B&M flying coaster, they tried some things here that they never returned to on later designs. It's not my favorite of the model or even close, but the extended laying sections and heavy terrain usage make this an interesting specimen that's worth riding once or twice.
  • Smooth and cute enough

As a coaster it's unmemorable, but I enjoyed the soundtrack and was surprised at the amount of effort put into the theming.

Beautiful park brought down by management

Alton Towers has the potential to be one of the best parks in the world. Its expansive and scenic grounds make for an incredible setting, and the rides from its heyday are one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Unfortunately, Merlin Entertainment have their grubby paws all over this park and won't let go. Awful hours, ridiculous prices, and dumb policies are just some of the things that plague this park and hold it back from its full potential. Despite all that, it still manages to be pretty wonderful.

Seems to be past its prime

I had a fine enough time here, but after hearing about all the stuff this park used to have and got rid of, it seems generic and drab.
  • Heave-ho!

Bog standard wacky worm besides the fact that the operators have to manually push the train out of the station.
  • Fun compact spinning coaster

Way to squeeze a lot of ride out of a small plot! Despite only sitting on a plot of about 170 x 70 ft, Turbulence manages to be an excellent example of a custom Mack spinning coaster.
  • Good fun

It's like a Flying Skooters type ride, but you get a little wet! Thoroughly enjoyed.
  • Cheap

The whole ride felt stock from a show floor with gags bought from Spirit Halloween. The only enjoyment I found in this ride was from laughing at how bad it was.
  • Dumb fun

Silly little thing that does lots of abrupt little drops. There's a surprising amount of fun to be had here.
  • Interesting forces

The rotation of the car itself was cranked way up on this one, and the seats face inward, so it pushed you into your seat. Not something you see on a lot of these gyro swing rides.
  • Novel, if uncomfortable.

Fireball doesn't do a whole lot. The sensation of going down the drops is fun enough, but doesn't warrant doing it 5 times. The ride throws you forwards and backwards in a weird way that feels like it's kind of just shaking you around for no reason. I'm glad I rode it for the uniqueness of the ride model, but I'd skip it next time.
  • Kind of wonderful, actually!

I'm partial to a good train ride and will try and get on one if I have time at a park, and this one didn't disappoint! I was expecting a simple if well presented ride around the park and was so pleasantly surprised when it went through the party pavilion and had some fun landscaping interactions. Probably ended up being my favorite ride here.
  • Charming!

While Rewind Racers is a unique ride model in the United States, the real appeal of this ride is the effort the park put into theming it. The ride features a midcourse "pit stop" with screens that show one of multiple short scenes featuring the mechanic character introduced in the station. I recommend riding multiple times to see some of them!
  • Cute theming!

Though unremarkable on a hardware level, this little family coaster is elevated by the fun road signs in the ride area.

Cute little place, full of charm.

You can really tell Adventure City is run by people who care! This park knows how to stretch their limited budget and make endearing family experiences. Stuff like the road signs on Freeway Coaster, the multiple shows you can get on the midcourse "pit stop" on Rewind Racers, and the miniature train ride that goes through the party pavilion point to a well thought out park that spends time on the little things. If you're planning on visiting without a child, make sure to email the park beforehand
